Jun 26, 2005 · The 209SC is interchangeable with the 209 -- they are ballistically equivalent. However the 209M is a different story entirely, so do not interchange the M with anything. The 209SC is one of the hottest primers available, the cci209 one of the mildest. Do not willy-nilly interchange them.

I've been cleared by Ben at Alliant to use the CCI209 in place of the Remington STS/209P for 18 gr. Red Dot, CB8100-12, 1oz. #8, 1200 fps, 8700 psi as I didn't want to distort the primer pocket of my Gun Clubs.

Jun 27, 2019 · The mixtures of the CCI made primers were/are not the same as the CCI primers that Federal made but they supposedly produce the same result. That is why the CCI209SC is no longer made and standard CCI 209 primers light off Clays powders just fine. There was another CCI primer made designated CCI 109 Trap & Skeet that was the exact same mixture ...

A phone call to Alliants Customer Service desk will undoubtedly get you tha needed data to use those primers. Call Ben Amonette at Alliant on 1-800-276-9337. Sep 15, 2013 · So, I've been experimenting with substituting CCI 209 primers for Winchester 209 primers, and today, I took a little time to chronograph loads using each. I offer the results simply to provide some additional data points to my fellow reloaders. Except for the primers, the loads were identical: 20 gauge. Winchester AA hulls.

Feb 18, 2016 · Medium strength primers include W-209's, Rem 209P, (or STS), CCI-209's, Fiocchi 616's, Noble Sports, and Cheddites. Any of these primers can be safely substituted in moderate pressure, (10,000 PSI or less), loads, with total safety. All other primers normally available are much hotter, and should never be substituted for any of the above primers.

The 109 has nickle plating the 209 does not. Therefore, these two are interchangable. Do not confuse the CCI209 with the CCI209M.
