While SCP Illustrated’s 173 had an simple, orderly, and symmetrical design, Secret Lab’s "Walnut" is a multi-headed abomination that resembles three creatures fused together more than a single entity. This is 173 if it didn't set properly before baking.

Feb 2, 2022 · His head and "face" is also kinda weird, face should be bit more "messy" like it was a child who painted it, and his head should be one piece instead of a cement piece that is kinda disconected. THAT ASS THO, it's perfect for taking huge shits like scp-173 does. Anyway great design, I wish it was more peanut like tho.

Mar 31, 2023 · It’s different from the original Untitled 2004 image with its bug eyes, also lacking the green stripe down its back or the red dots on its head. I wonder how many slight changes could you add to the classic design so that it’s still recognizable as SCP-173 but isn’t too close to the original Untitled 2004 statue to be copyrighted.

Personally, I think that scp-173 is something that shouldn’t really look scary and threatening, that’s what makes it, well, it. When you see a picture of scp-173 for the first time it seems like an innocent statue and I think that’s one of its most defining factor. Aside from its lovely dookie booty and cool odd looking face.

All of the SCP-173 redesigns I have seen lean on gritty, broken, or just scary aesthetic. But the thing that I always loved about 173 was how seemingly innocent it looked. Like it was made by a child. I wanted to lean into that innocence with my attempt at a redesign.
