I was partially inspired by the anime Goblin Slayer but wanted to make a magic user instead of a fighter. I ultimately decided that the best class combination to make the character I want to play would be a Wizard with a few levels in Rogue.

Jun 27, 2024 · If you just want those two classes and you want primarily rogue, 10 Arcane Trickster / 2 Wizard is a pretty natural stopping point. That will let you scribe 3rd level spells and you will also get 3 feats and access to magical ambush.

Mar 30, 2020 · Wizard with Arcane Trickster is by far from Optimal, but it does get you some extra use out of your Mage Hand. Would need to be Wizard X, Arcane Trickster 3 though. Which puts you "behind" on spell level by two, but only one behind on spell slots.
