Mar 4, 2023 · The biggest difference between the MK4 with MMU and the XL is that the MK4 with MMU is a multi filament printer. The XL with the tool changer is a multi material printer. With multi material you have the ability to print CF/PC balls inside a PETG race using water soluble filament as a support material and using TPU as a seal.

The Original Prusa MK4/S, MK3.9/S, and XL are equipped with a loadcell. This component incorporated in the hotend heatsink detects if the nozzle is close enough to the steel sheet for printing. The only adjustment needed for the loadcell is during the selftest.

Oct 18, 2024 · I've been playing with the MK4 for a couple of weeks, but some of the projects are just too small. The XL would solve some of that, but I'm curious if the quality suffers any on the smaller projects I've done on the MK4?

Aug 28, 2023 · With these conditions: Prusa XL, but it will be more than 6 months before you will be able to get one. An alternative could be a Voron (for example a V2.4 350), it ticks 2 of the 3 but you can have it now.

Jun 15, 2023 · I was taking a look at the assembly instructions for the MK4 and was trying to figure out how the load cell works. The hotend is inserted on one end of the heat sink and the load cell is glued to the other end of the heat sink.
