Dec 31, 2021 · It means it's was manufactured in 1993. The pharoh is just the Maadi emblem from that time period. Aside from the factory 54 logo of course. Mar 9, 2017 · Identified as having been made at “Factory 54” on the receiver and incorporating an Egyptian pharaoh’s helm as a logo, these rifles were the closest copy of Russian stamped-receiver AKMs that could be had at that time.

Nov 16, 2010 · Looks like you've got one of the later MISR type rifles with an uncommon buttstock. But you're not going to have any Arabic writing on it. Just the pharoah logo on it which appears to be there. Look on www.AK-47.US and they give a good history of who imported which model and when.

Apr 9, 2024 · This is where the most popular nickname of the Egyptian AK, “Maadi”, comes from. Another name for this rifle, “Misr” is the name of Egypt in their own language. It wasn’t as common of a name as “Maadi”, but it was still occasionally used.

Jul 1, 2011 · While Nasr was in power in Egypt, the Russians moved an entire AKM factory to Egypt to produce the AKM, so all the equipment to build the rifles is original, authentic Russian. All the receivers made at the Maadi plant are stamped with the Factory 54 logo present on the bottom of the receiver. Here's my Maadi's Factory-54 stamp

Jul 1, 2020 · These "Maadi" AK 47s, having been produced on Soviet machinery by technicians trained by the Russians, were virtually the same weapons as those produced in the Soviet Union. The rifles were designated as the ARM (Automatic Rifle Misr). By the way, "Misr" is an Arabic designation for Egypt.

Oct 12, 2010 · The Izhmash logo and date had a thicker font and the serial numbers were stamped, not engraved. Here's a real 1977 Izhmash trunion (I think it belongs to Stottman). I suspect the engraving occurred after the filming of Red Dawn.

May 20, 2020 · One of the more “unique” Egyptian small arms from the Cold War era for collectors today is the Maadi ARM. This Egyptian clone of the infamous AK-47 has been produced from 1959 to the present day. The military version is available in select-fire while a commercial version has been produced in semi-automatic only.
