In Halo: Reach, the Zealot armor is available as an Armor Permutation once the player has reached the rank of Captain. The game features a loadout called "Zealot" which gives the player a Gadulo -pattern needle rifle , a plasma pistol, and two plasma grenades.

In Halo 4, the Zealot wears what appear to be a mixture of the Halo: Reach Zealot armor and the Special Operations Sangheili armor, albeit with a battle-scarred look. The armor itself is a traditional design from Hesduros. [2]

A Sangheili Zealot seen in Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn also has yellowish green eyes, Gek 'Lhar has yellow eyes, Jul and Rho have gray eyes and Vata 'Gajat from Halo: Escalation has red eyes. In Halo 4 their armor comes in two colors, the standard dark red color and a deep blue which is wield by Jul 'Mdama and possibly several other high ranking Zealots. A sub class known as the Zealot Assassin is a high ranking Sangheili who leads small teams of Zealots into combat.

Zealots, Ultras and equivalent ranks can be encountered with these weapons, and either holding them outright, or pulling them out as they charge at the player. In most games, a single strike from one of these foes is enough to kill the player on any difficulty, and swordsmen continue their melee attack by slashing both at their front and back.

At the Visigrad relay station, Noble encounters Zealot elites and one gets away, their Field Marshall, specifically a Zealot Field Marshall. This elite was leading a team of Zealots and Halsey firmly believes its almost always just Zealots that hunt artifact data, so its safe to say this Field Marshall was also a Zealot.

Jan 25, 2024 · My favorite trick was that Zealot on the first bridge in Assault on the Control Rool where I would lure him out onto a glass pane, shoot it out beneath him, and run away. I only recently started actually killing him, and I mean in my last 2 playthroughs from the past year.

Elite Zealot Slayer is a Commendation in Halo 4. A point is obtained every time the player kills a Sangheili Zealot or Sangheili Ranger.
