On the rotating collar, where the actual jib was mounted, I welded two pieces of round stock at the bottom about 120° apart (60° off jib centerline) and took two short (4" or so) merely bored to fit and turned to make the jib lay horizontal. Washer and cotter pin keeps them from falling off.

Anyone made modifications to HF Engine crane?
Apr 13, 2011 · Well when I first made my shop crane, it had an electric hydraulic power pack with a double acting cylinder. It operated very quickly and had lots of power. Only drawback was that the spool valves tend to bleed, so that it would not hold a position. Also dragging that power cord around was a pain in the butt, especially when it was run over.

Feb 25, 2023 · In this picture of the shop layout, the bridge crane rails are shown in green on the right half of the shop. I put in the 8 steel support posts for the crane as the last part of finishing out the shop construction, but held off on the bridge crane for financial reasons. Just picked up the steel to start building the rest of the crane.

Apr 13, 2011 · Not the best picture but what it is is a stand for the chucks with a pipe jib crane with bearing trolly running on a steel tube with a chain binder for the lift bolted to the bed and headstock of the lathe. all the chucks are drilled and tapped for an eye bolt. this is the Mazak at the workshop. here is a better picture.
