Newcastle lacked a cutting edge without star striker Alexander Isak and drew 0-0 at Aston Villa on Saturday in the Premier League's opening round. Isak was left out as he tries to push for a move to defending champion Liverpool.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle is the early Premier League match and is due to kick off at 12.30pm BST on Saturday 16 August at Villa Park.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle are close to a deal with Aston Villa for Jacob Ramsey. Ramsey had also been linked with a move to West Ham, but the player preferred a move to Newcastle. The deal will be around a £40m package for Ramsey, and the signing is said to be imminent.
