Monterey Car Week is an event of extremes. It’s ultra-wealthy collectors converging on a breathtaking stretch of California coast, showing off some of the most beautiful cars ever built. It’s also a place where those same ultra-wealthy people can exhibit spectacularly bad behavior.

From August 13 through 17, Northern California’s Monterey Peninsula once again became the annual bellwether for the collector-car market, as the world’s leading auction houses presented masterworks through the automotive ages.

From Corvettes, Mustangs, and Lamborghinis to Lexus, Nichols, and Lucid, there was plenty to see in California this past weekend.
