A Lowell man was ordered to be held on $1 million bail after being charged with raping a child when they were 5-years-old, officials announced on Wednesday.

A Lowell man was ordered held on $1 million bail Wednesday after being charged with raping a girl for five years, officials say.

A man was charged in connection with several assaults on a child who told authorities that she was assaulted since she was 5 years old, the district attorney said.

Rodas, 38, a citizen of Guatemala, according to he Suffolk DA’s office, faces eight charges, including four counts of aggravated rape of a child.
