New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III made multiple plays on a drive that culminated into him scoring a touchdown against the Vikings.
Drake Maye didn’t get to throw to Efton Chism III during Saturday’s preseason game with the Minnesota Vikings. Joshua Dobbs was the lucky quarterback. But that doesn’t mean Chism, who had six catches on six targets for 71 yards and a touchdown during the 20-12 win over the Vikings, hasn’t made an impression on the Patriots starting quarterback.
"The Patriots project to have Stefon Diggs, Kayshon Boutte and DeMario Douglas as their starting receivers, with Mack Hollins and 2025 third-round pick Kyle Williams also locks as complementary options," Reiss writes. "So Chism has essentially forced the team's hand to keep six receivers and maybe even a seventh."
FOXBORO, MASS. - Former Eastern Washington University football standout, Efton Chism III made a solid impression with the New England Patriots in his NFL preseason debut against Washington, Aug. 8. Chism led the Patriots in receptions (six) and receiving yards (50) and scored the team's only receiving touchdown in a 48-18 win.

Efton Chism III has the right stuff. Is that enough to make Patriots roster? | Karen Guregian
With Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams pretty much pencilled in, and Javon Baker making a strong case to be the sixth, it seemed like Chism would be a tough-luck loser. Only, he keeps making plays. Friday night against Washington, he led the way with 6 catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.
