The Columbus Blue Jackets named franchise icon Rick Nash as their president of hockey operations on Friday. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 NHL draft, Nash played for the Blue Jackets from 2002 to 2012 and is the franchise leader in goals (289) and assists (258).

Columbus Blue Jackets President and General Manager Don Waddell announced today that Rick Nash has been named the director of hockey operations for the club. In addition, Zach Abdou has been hired as senior manager of hockey operations and Basil McRae will serve as director of pro scouting.
