Anthony Cacace says he wants to cement his name in Irish boxing history as he prepares for the "fight of my life" against Josh Warrington.

After a respectful, friendly build-up, Anthony Cacace, 23-1 (8 KOs), and Josh Warrington, 31-4-1 (8 KOs), declared war on each other at Friday’s weigh in but rather than the expected brutal brawl, the super featherweight contest turned out to be a gruelling nip and tuck affair.

Josh Warrington looks as though he may be set to retire from boxing, having left his gloves on the canvas following his loss to Anthony Cacace today at Wembley Stadium. Matchroom Boxing didn’t confirm and Warrington has not done so yet,

Warrington did his best work in the second round when he was able to get in close and pepper Cacace with body shots. From the third round on, Cacace found his range. At the midway point, both combatants had landed 51 power punches.
