Denver Broncos 53-MAN Roster Prediction
Digest more
Denver Broncos backup offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo suffered a season-ending ACL injury in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, coach Sean Payton confirmed after Tuesday's practice.
NFL teams must cut their rosters from 90 to 53 by 2 p.m. on Aug. 26. Every year, much is made about players being sure bets to get claimed by other teams, and every year the number is lower than expected — often less than one per team. Payton thinks his team will be getting poached this summer rather than doing the poaching.
Titans star CB L'Jarius Sneed has been activated from the PUP list, but he still has an uncertain status for a Week 1 clash with the Broncos.
Sean Payton is clearly a big Tyler Badie fan. The 25-year-old running back seemed poised to carve out a notable role in the Denver Broncos ' backfield last fall before a scary back injury derailed his season. Now healthy again, Badie appears to be the favorite for RB3 duties in 2025 behind veteran J.K. Dobbins and second-round draft pick RJ Harvey.
Plus which undrafted rookies might crack the 53, the offensive line, just how high Kris Abrams-Draine can climb on the depth chart and much more.

Colin Cowherd is back with his first Herd Hierarchy of the 2025 NFL Season, featuring the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs in the Top 5 and Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers making the cut. Agree with Colin's first Hierarchy?
One position in particular that could cause headaches is wide receiver. Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin and third-round pick Pat Bryant are presumably locks. Devaughn Vele is presumably safe, and Trent Sherfield is set to serve as a key special teams player this season.
