Davis police are still seeking a suspect in the shooting, which took place during Picnic Day, UC Davis’ annual open house.

The shooting at Davis Community Park sparked chaos on a spring day meant to celebrate UC Davis and the college town where its campus is.

During World War II, the Army Signal Corps controlled the campus, and Picnic Day disappeared from 1943 to 1945. This year, tens of thousands of people came to town for its annual open house.
