In early trading on Monday, shares of Broadcom topped the list of the day's best performing components of the Nasdaq 100 index, trading up 6.2%. Year to date, Broadcom registers a 113.9% gain.

The daily chart shows that the Nasdaq 100 index has suffered a deep reversal in the past few days. After peaking at $22,140 in December, it has fallen by over 5% to the current $21,000.
