The two Russian figure skating coaches killed in the American Airlines crash were two-time Olympians and former world champions in the pairs event.

Maxim, who medaled in the U.S. Championships in Wichita -- was not on the plane that crashed into the Potomac Wednesday. He flew home earlier in the week.
