The rodeo event has raised more than $255 million in scholarships for Texas students. Every ticket, turkey leg and funnel cake help fund education.

It’s not for us to call the Roman god of love stupid, but perhaps Cupid has gotten blasé after centuries of matchmaking. While the traditional blow-out dinner isn’t a bad way to celebrate a beloved, the San Antonio Valentine’s Day calendar is also packed with more memorable events.

The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo begins on Thursday, Feb. 6, and will continue through Sunday, Feb. 23.
