Kolkata: Two more community Durga Puja committees in Kolkata on Saturday announced that they have declined the West Bengal government's Rs 85,000 grant to voice their protest over the alleged rape-murder of a doctor at a state-run hospital here last month.

Junior doctors in Bengal have decided to end their large-scale protest over the rape and murder of a fellow doctor at a hospital in Kolkata. They announced that they will return to work on Saturday, although with a condition: they will not participate in OPD services or attend elective operations.

Kolkata: The protesting junior doctors on Saturday had resumed emergency services at various government hospitals and also at flood affected areas. A team of 30 junior doctors from two different medical colleges visited the flooded areas and not just treatment they were also seen distributing dry foods to the affected people of the area.

The decision to partially end the cease work came on Thursday evening marking a major breakthrough in the 41-day impasse
