HONOLULU (AP) — A sixth person died Wednesday from injuries sustained when crates of illegal fireworks ignited during a New Year’s Eve party in a Honolulu neighborhood, setting off a chain of explosions that left more than a dozen people with severe burns.

A 29-year-old man who suffered severe burns from a NYE fireworks explosion in Honolulu has died. He was being treated at the Arizona Burn Center.

A sixth person has died following a fireworks explosion in Hawaii. Police say a 30-year-old woman died at the hospital on Wednesday. Three other women, a 3-year-old boy and a man have also died. Five burn patients are still being treated at a Phoenix hospital.

Eight people are still being treated in burn units in Arizona and Honolulu, and the police investigation is ongoing.
