He was surprised on stage with the invite by Grand Ole Opry member Emmylou Harris. “When is that, July?” Starr said. “I’d love to. It’s an honor and a pleasure. Thank you.”

Starr will make his Opry debut on February 21 at the Grand Ole Opry House as part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th Anniversary celebration. Starr kicked off his sold-out two-night show (Jan. 14-15) at the Ryman Auditorium Tuesday night, to celebrate his new country album, Look Up.

Tuesday night in Nashville, Emmylou Harris invited famed Beatles drummer Ringo Starr to make his Grand Ole Opry debut in February.
