Epic Games announced in a post on X that Fortnite OG is “combing BACK and is here to stay” starting December 6. That means players can experience the original map and loot starting with Chapter 1, Season 1 from all the way back in 2017, when Fortnite was less of the pop culture metaverse juggernaut it is today.

Fortnite players, get ready to party like it's 2017. On Tuesday, Epic Games announced that Fortnite OG is returning on Dec. 6, and this time, it's staying for good. Fortnite OG allows players to experience the game as it was when it was first released back in September 2017.

According to leaks, Fortnite OG will return permanently this December and the changes that it bring is tempting me to play the game again.

Players have clamoured for a return of Fortnite OG, the game’s mini season that brought back Chapter 1 content, since its addition to the game in late 2023. This year, Epic Games showed they were listening by bringing back a remixed version of Chapter 2 to conclude the entirety of Chapter 5 – but that’s not all.

Fortnite has had attractive game modes and collaborations to keep players hooked. Epic Games has also used nostalgia to reignite interest in Battle Royale. Proof of this was OG, a mode that brought back the original map for a limited time.
