Ford hasn't yet formally told the world exactly when the next-generation F-150 pickup truck will be arriving, but if there's one certainty in the car world, it's that a new F-Series is inevitable. That said, a recent report from Crain’s Detroit Business tells us it’s going to be a delayed arrival.

The Ford F-Series has been the top seller for decades, but the current turmoil in the industry has the automaker delaying the next F-150 by at least a year.

The Detroit Big Three are all said to be delaying a significant number of upcoming models and moving money away from EV development and towards hybrids and ICE vehicles. These dramatic changes are coming partly because of the slower-than-anticipated growth in the EV market, and policy uncertainty under the Trump administration.

Communicating a launch delay well in advance, as Ford is doing with the F-150, helps parts producers in terms of planning and preventing stranded capital, the supplier officials said. Ford’s communication and transparency with suppliers has improved considerably since Door took over supply chain in 2023, they added.
