California Wildfire Map Update Shows How Every Fire Burning Has Spread
As of Thursday afternoon, six active wildfires are burning in Southern California, and maps shared on the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) website show how each one has grown.

Weekend rain helped firefighters gain ground on the deadly Palisades and Eaton fires, which started Jan. 7 in a Santa Ana windstorm and destroyed entire neighborhoods. California Wildfire Updates: Palisades, Eaton Fires Over 95% Contained
Jan. 22, 10:30 a.m. PST Cal Fire data marked the Palisades Fire at 68% containment and the Eaton Fire at 91% containment, listing no other active fires in Los Angeles as a red flag warning is in effect for much the region until Friday evening.

The Huges Fire was first reported in the Castaic area on Wednesday, Jan. 22 along Lake Hughes Road near Castaic Lake. Within an hour, the fire exploded from 50 to 500 acres. Officials quickly issued evacuation orders and warnings, including students who were taken to other schools and locations.
California Wildfire Maps Update as Blazes More Contained
The Palisades fire is the largest at 23,713 acres. Evacuation orders and warnings remain in place. As of the most recent Cal Fire update, the Eaton fire has grown to 14,117 acres. Some of the evacuation orders and warnings associated with the fire also remain in place.
