Dylan DeMelo scored with 27 seconds left in regulation to give the Winnipeg Jets a hard-earned 2-1 victory over the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.

The Kraken managed to keep pace Thursday night against the best in the West, but an unlucky bounce in the closing minute allowed Winnipeg to escape with a 2-1 win.

Mark Scheifele's power play goal tied it 1-1 in the second, but with just 27 seconds left, Dylan DeMelo scored the game-winner past Kraken goalie Joey Daccord. It was DeMelo’s third career game-winner and his 600th NHL game.

The Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets couldn’t be moving on two more opposite spectrums at this point in the season. The Jets have one of the best records in the league and are alone at the top of the Western Conference.
