Two helpers Monday

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Bobby Brink, Joel Farabee and Garnet Hathaway scored to help the Philadelphia Flyers build a three-goal lead and they held on to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2 on Monday night.

Bobby Brink and Joel Farabee scored 28 seconds apart in the first period and the Philadelphia Flyers held on for a 4-2 win against the visiting New Jersey Devils on Monday night.

The Flyers beat the Devils for the second time in 10 days by picking up a 4-2 win Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center.

Ristolainen was the OT hero after a move and a loose puck just trickled by Red Wings goaltender Alex Lyon on a rush and a deke that got away from Owen Tippett in the blue paint. The defenseman was the one to crash in and clean it all up.

The Flyers, who currently rank 19th on the PK, finished fourth last season and led the NHL with 16 shorthanded goals.

This is the second of a home-and-home series. Philly won its home game on Monday, 4-2, over New Jersey, which will host the Wednesday matchup.

After back-to-back losses in New York, the Philadelphia Flyers bounced back with a big 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Monday night. Unlike the two previous games, the Flyers scored multiple first-period goals and held on to the lead.

The Devils finally got on the board with 1:13 to play in the period. Ersson got a piece of Dougie Hamilton’s shot but the puck hopped in the air and fell back into the net as Travis Sanheim tried to swipe the puck away with his stick.
