Thunberg was one of 12 passengers on board the boat carrying aid destined for people in Gaza. The activists said they were protesting the war and the humanitarian crisis amid Israeli restrictions on aid.

Thunberg urged her supporters to exert more pressure on their governments to demand the regular flow of aid to Gaza, end the 20 month long war on the enclave and eliminate the ongoing system oppression and violence that Palestinians endure daily.

Television personality Piers Morgan blasted climate activist Greta Thunberg for claiming she was “kidnapped” by Israeli forces during a pro-Palestinian mission, calling her statements “attention-seeking” and “an insult” to victims held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.
