One person was rescued and taken to the hospital after a house fire broke out in Citrus Heights Friday morning, firefighters said.

Firefighters found the person in a bathroom, broke a window and pulled them outside, Sac Metro Fire said. They were then taken to a neabry hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation. "This person is lucky to be alive today," Sacramento Metro Fire spokesperson Parker Wilbourn said.
