City Comptroller Brad Lander, who is also running for mayor, launched a "pressure campaign" to force Adams into suing the administration after discovering FEMA had access to the city's bank account without his office’s knowledge.

The federal judge overseeing the corruption case against New York City Mayor Eric Adams is set to hear from the attorneys Wednesday afternoon about the Justice Department’s controversial motion to dismiss the charges against him.

In this case that would mean the inability committee would include Corporation Counsel Muriel Goode-Trufant, Lander, Speaker Adams and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards. The deputy mayor who would serve is unclear, especially with four of them on their way out of the Adams administration.

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is expected to announce Thursday that she will not use her executive powers to remove Mayor Eric Adams from office at least for now, two sources briefed on the decision told CNN.
