The Texas Longhorns have found their replacement for Blake Gideon in up-and-coming assistant coach Mark Orphey.

The Texas Longhorns have found their replacement for Blake Gideon, hiring up-and-coming assistant coach Mark Orphey as their new safeties coach. Anwar Richardson of OrangeBloods.com reported Wednesday night that Orphey, formerly the cornerbacks coach at Rutgers, is set to join head coach Steve Sarkisian’s staff in Austin.

According to multiple reports, Mark Orphey has been tabbed to become the new safeties coach at Texas. Orphey will replace Blake Gideon.

One of the top recruiters for Steve Sarkisian, Tashard Choice also interviewed with the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason.
