Prince Harry’s recent BBC interview is exactly what the royal family was reportedly dreading. During the interview, Harry opened up about losing his legal battle for state-funded security and spoke of his ongoing rift with his family.

Relations between Prince Harry and, in particular, his brother Prince William only seem to be more strained following Harry’s May 2 interview with the BBC. The Duke of Sussex took part in the interview following a judge’s ruling that Harry would continue to not receive taxpayer-funded security following his step back as a working royal in 2020.

Prince Harry is fully aware of the "consequences of continuing to do interviews" and "speaking out", the journalist who sat down with him last week said. The Duke of Sussex spoke to the BBC on Friday after losing a court battle in which he had sought to overturn a downgrading of his security while in the UK.
