The free event runs Friday, March 7, through Sunday, March 9, with cosplay contests, gaming tournaments and children's activities.

As the annual Comic Con approaches this weekend, the Midland Mall doesn't anticipate any issues with its new policy requiring children under the age of 16 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Parking lots surrounding Midland Mall were packed over the weekend as cosplayers, creators, and collectors from all walks of life gathered for the fifth annual Midland Mall Comic Con, held March 7-9.
