Powerful tornado struck Kentucky's Pulaski and Laurel counties, causing huge destruction, especially in Somerset along US 27.

A serious long-track tornado ripped through southern Kentucky on Friday night. Our meteorologists tracked the storm all day, even as it hung over St. Louis, MO. The video in the player above shows how that same storm traveled across the bottom border of Kentucky, nearly 400 miles.

Donations are being collected at the airport. The items needed include: A medical clinic has also been set up at the airport to prevent “little injuries from becoming big ones,” according to authorities. Among the services being offered are tetanus shots.

London Mayor Randall Weddle told our sister station WKYT the death toll in just Laurel County is now up to 20. The current total deaths is at least 21 in Kentucky. On Saturday morning, Gov. Beshear said the death toll was at 14 and expected to climb.
