Ram, and Stellantis as a whole, did away with its V8 engine, slowly phasing out the old Hemi V8 across its brands and lineups over the last few years with much fanfare and many limited editions. Customers were told to act now or lose out.

Recently unretired Ram boss Tim Kuniskis is leaving the door open to bring back V8 engines to the Ram truck lineup after Stellantis axed them.

Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis has said they “took away a fundamental American thing” when they dropped the Hemi V8. He understands the anger, but wants to get production issues sorted out first before considering its return to the lineup. While the 1500 no longer offers a V8, the 2025 Ram 2500 and 3500 come standard with a 6.4-liter Hemi.

For some pickup truck fans, there's no replacement for displacement. Now, Ram's CEO has said it's possible the 1500 could once again pack a Hemi V8.
