GM will initiate temporary layoffs starting April 14 with workers returning in May for limited production, Unifor said, then shutting down for 20 weeks.

GM has informed labor union Unifor that it will initiate temporary layoffs at the CAMI assembly plant that produces the Chevy BrightDrop starting April 14th.

General Motors will temporarily idle its CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, starting April 14. The move will result in temporary layoffs beginning in mid-April, followed by a production halt lasting through early October.
