The WA485-11 offers up to 12 percent lower fuel consumption, 21 percent more engine power and 13 percent faster climbing speed compared to its predecessor, the WA480-8.

Komatsu held horsepower of the 40,000-lb. WA380-7 wheel loader the same as the -6 model it replaced at 191, but claims the new Tier-4-Interim-certified diesel can decrease fuel consumption by 10%.
