Every phone in the Pixel 10 lineup. announced today, has Qi2 magnetic wireless charging at up to 15W. The Pro XL has Qi2.2 and can charge at up to 25W, which is great and all, but wireless charging isn’t the cool part. The magnets are the cool part.

At its product event on Wednesday, Google announced new hardware, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, as well as the Pixel Watch 4 and the Pixel Buds 2a.

Speaking of losses: Google is taking a page out of Apple’s playbook, and the versions of the Pixel 10 phones sold in the US will be eSIM-only. The physical SIM tray is replaced with the ability to use two active eSIMs at once and store eight “or more” eSIM profiles.

The Pixel 10's rumored Qi2 inclusion unfortunately stands in stark contrast to two of Google's Android partners.

Recent rumors and leaks suggest that the Pixel 10 series will feature magnet-based Qi2 wireless charging. That would position the Google Pixel well above Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus in charging capabilities. The big question is how fast the charging will be, and how reliable it is compared to the iPhone's MagSafe.
