Novo Nordisk is slashing the price of its blockbuster diabetes drug Ozempic for U.S. patients who self-pay or are uninsured.
Novo Nordisk lowers Ozempic cost to $499 per month for uninsured U.S. patients, expanding access through NovoCare and 70,000 pharmacies.
Novo Nordisk, the company that makes Ozempic, is now offering its popular diabetes drug to eligible patients for less than half the price. The drugmaker says patients who pay for the medication on their own and don’t go through insurance can get monthly supplies for $499.
Novo Nordisk revealed on Monday that US patients can now receive a month’s supply of Ozempic, a highly effective diabetes drug, for $499, for patients who pay for their treatment by themselves without using insurance.
The Ozempic price cut could appease US President Donald Trump, who has pushed for drug companies to lower their prices.
Novo Nordisk announced Monday that people who use Ozempic can now get it for half the price if you pay in cash.
