Just before 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, several onlookers in Brooklyn were enjoying one of New York City’s sunnier days, when they witnessed a Mexican Navy training ship collide hit the bottom of the Brooklyn Bridge,

Two people are dead after a Mexican marine navy vessel struck the Brooklyn Bridge Saturday, snapping the ship's three masts and leaving some crew members hanging high above the water.

There were 277 people on board when the ship drifted directly into the underside of the bridge on Saturday night, the authorities said. At least 22 were injured, half of them critically.
