Three Oregon men have been sentenced to federal prison after giving a 17-year-old high school student in Medford fentanyl, which caused a fatal overdose.

Three men will be spending a total of more than 18 years in prison for distributing fentanyl that caused the overdose death of a Medford teenager in 2021. On Thursday, 23-year-old Hunter Fenstermaker was sentenced to five years and 22-year-old Napoleon Gomez was sentenced to just over seven years.

According to court documents, Hunter Fenstermaker, 23, Napoleon Gomez, 22, and Conner Lee Francis, 27, were identified as the first, second and third level drug suppliers for a 17-year-old Medford high school student who died after taking a counterfeit Percocet pill that contained fentanyl in 2021.

A 26-year-old Silver Spring man faces 20 years in prison for selling a teenager a pill laced with fentanyl that ultimately led to his death. Mikiyas Kefyalew, has pleaded guilty to distributing fentanyl that resulted in the tragic death of a 16-year-old in Bethesda.
