The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that the suspect in the Canfield Mountain shooting, which killed two Idaho firefighters, also intentionally started the fire that brought emergency crews to the area.

Roley had no known criminal record. Local police had five recent minor and non-violent interactions with Roley, whereby they asked him to move his vehicle from where he was parked.

Authorities say two firefighters were killed and another was badly injured after they were ambushed and shot while responding to a wildfire near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
