A 41-year-old man is facing felony arson charges after he was accused of setting a brush fire near the Chatsworth Reservoir on Monday, then detained by witnesses until authorities arrived. With deputies rushing to the scene, a group of neighbors in Chatsworth chased down a man they said started a couple of brush fires near their homes.

A man was arrested for an alleged arson after a group of witnesses spotted him lighting a fire in Chatsworth on Monday and detained him until deputies arrived, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

A man tried to start two fires near the Chatsworth Reservoir, authorities say, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze and residents chased down the suspect.
