The Jewish Museum in Auschwitz preserves the Jewish heritage of Oświęcim (Auschwitz) in Poland and educates about the Holocaust and the dangers of prejudice and hatred today. The Jewish Museum is located in the heart of the Old Town of Oświęcim, next to the only surviving synagogue and the former home of the last Jewish resident of Oświęcim – which now houses Café Bergson.

I have taken this tour with a Guide , but I have been to Auschwitz about 10 times or so showing my friends around. I am a Businessman living in Krakow, for now. I recommend that you get there early so you can join an English speaking Guide Group in order to have enough time to see the two Museums. There is Krakow Tours Guide's (in Town) that would take you, but I see that there are fast, expensive and not worth it. I would go to the Krakow Bus terminal and there they have direct bus's to Auschwitz. In this way, you will see more and not hurry up your visit. All the direct bus's return to Krakow on Site at the front entrance.

There's a major confusion here. This "attraction" is a restored synagogue in the city of Oswiecim, the town adjacent to and near the Auschwitz concentration camp. That's where the similarity ends. You will find here a restored synagogue with artifacts from the first half of the twentieth century. It's fine for a young child- maybe not too interesting, but not horrifying. Many reviewers post and describe their experience of the concentration camps under this section but it is wrong- the title of this should be Oswiecim (the Polish name of the town); calling it Auschwitz (the German name) causes confusion- call the town Oswiecim and call the concentration camp Auschwitz- and that place is not appropriate for a child.
