I don't consider myself handicapped but I do have limitations. I have a bad back which hinders my walking and now I have Congestive Heart Failure. Do I have to walk far? My Hubby was so sweet to book this trip for us this year but says I Must walk a LOT. That may be a challenge. It also scares me a bit. I WANT SO bad to ride this train.

Believe everything that the literature says about the trip not being ADA compliant. The entry to the train cars, after stepping up to entry level on a step stool, includes a few additional steps (fairly steep), with assistance from the staff and grab rails on the train car to help you up. Depending on the car which you reserved, you could walk through several or many cars on the way to your car. For a train with over 30 cars, there are only two boarding locations, so you could walk through a dozen or more cars, including stairways and narrow passageways, to get to your reserved car. Once in Hinton, the train tracks parallel the river (which is probably the lowest point in town), so there is quite a hike up into town. We took the steps, so I don't know if there is a shuttle or any assistance to people who can't make the trek up the stairs. There were a number of people who appeared to have mobility challenges of one kind or another. Once on the train, no problem, but getting in and out could pose some challenges. Also, as noted in the literature, parking in Huntington is limited. We arrived early and found a spot relatively close. We did notice school bus shuttles -- don't know where that parking was. So, even with a shuttle, you'd be dealing with boarding and exiting the school bus.
